If you want editorial feedback on a complete novel draft and want me to read the whole manuscript, a manuscript critique or developmental edit will be a better fit for you – but for incomplete manuscripts, short stories, or if you just want feedback on one part of your novel such as the opening, coaching or a consultation call will be the best fit for you.

Ways you might want to use these services include:
- You’re looking for some advice on your next steps – whether that’s how to go about revising your first draft, how to put together a collection of short stories, whether to self-publish or pursue traditional publishing, or if you’re just feeling stuck mid-draft and struggling to work your way through a gaping plot hole. Book a one-off consultation call and I’ll help talk you through it. Sometimes getting a second opinion on your plot ideas and having space to talk it through can help you work out how to make sure all the pieces slot together perfectly.
- You’d like some input on how to improve your writing style or one particular area of a story you’re struggling with – or you know your budget won’t stretch to a full developmental edit, but you’d like some in-depth feedback. Send me an extract, and I’ll send you either written feedback or book a call to discuss it, depending which is the best fit.
- You’ve got writing goals in mind, but you’re struggling to stick to them. You want someone to check in with you regularly and keep you on track. We’ll set up regular zooms or emails, depending which you’d prefer, to help you meet your goals. These can be every week, every month, or something else – it’s really just about what would work best for you.
- You’ve had feedback from multiple readers and you’re not sure how to pick and choose from it or how to go about implementing it. We’ll look at it together and I’ll help you identify what the most significant/important changes would be and how to go about tackling them.
- You’re a newer writer and looking for some guidance on how to develop your writing. Send me a section of something you’ve written to review, and I’ll send you some written feedback along with some writing exercises to help you keep moving forward.
- You want to book an adventure scene safety check, for that one scene where your character has to survive scaling a cliff or travelling across a crevasse-ridden glacier.
