At Lexical Peaks, I offer writing coaching, manuscript critiques, developmental editing, copyediting and proofreading for writers of fiction and outdoors literature. I work with publishing companies and independent authors based all over the world.
I love working with writers who are passionate about developing their skills and their understanding of writing craft. If you're keen to tighten up your manuscript so that you're telling the best possible version of your story, I'd love to hear from you. I’m aware that the different levels and types of editing can feel confusing if you’re new to all of this. If you have any questions at all, please do feel free to get in touch and I’ll be happy to talk you through it. You can also book a free 15-min Zoom call if you'd prefer. |
I am so glad and feel fortunate that the developmental editing and copy editing was done by Philippa. My book’s story flows better, and the storyline makes more sense. My writing and thought process have improved because of Philippa’s guidance and feedback. For example, she didn’t just tell me that in this part of the story it should go like this. Instead, she asked questions such as “how the readers would know… would it be better to provide more details…” Her editing and instructions were clear and concise, which made the revision process easier and less frustrating. Thank you so much for spending the time on my book! Your expertise is greatly appreciated!

A note on pricing |
|
I've given some idea of my fees above. It's impossible to give a flat rate as different writers/manuscripts require different levels of intervention, and some texts are more complex than others and therefore slower to work through. I’m aware that budgets are generally tight so I’ll always complete the job in the fewest hours possible but I won’t put speed above quality; it’s important to me that you get a careful and accurate proofread or edit to help you ensure your writing is of a high standard before sharing it with the world
For novels or longer pieces of writing, I offer a free sample proofread/edit (around 500 words) which will give you an idea of how the process works, and helps me give you a more accurate no-obligation quote. Please send me a message for a full quote. I am always happy to discuss your work, and if it turns out I'm not the right person to work with you, I’ll be happy to point you in the direction of experienced editors who would be better placed to help you. |
